BGB 33/11 KV GIS Substation

Adex is proud to be a key contributor in the implementation of the 33/11 KV GIS Substation Project at Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Headquarters, Pilkhana, Dhaka — a signature initiative undertaken by Dhaka Power Distribution Company Limited (DPDC) to ensure uninterrupted and resilient power supply in critical zones.

Project Overview:

This high-profile project was developed through a joint collaboration between DPDC and BGB, utilizing allocated land within the BGB compound. It was strategically planned to meet the increasing demand for electricity in the region and within BGB’s key infrastructure.

Adex took charge of delivering a modern, reliable, and automated substation, backed by advanced fire prevention systems and high-capacity components — strictly adhering to IEC standards and best engineering practices.

Advanced Fire Protection Technologies:

The substation is equipped with two cutting-edge systems to enhance safety:

Nitrogen Injection Fire Protection System (NIFPS):
Prevents internal transformer fires by injecting nitrogen gas under controlled pressure and flow rate.
Oxygen Reduction Fire Prevention System:
Maintains oxygen levels below combustible thresholds to eliminate the risk of fire ignition — a revolutionary and preventive safety solution.

Substation Automation System (SAS)

The intelligent SAS enables complete station monitoring and control via Human Machine Interface (HMI). It offers:

Real-time data acquisition
Full protection and control of all bays
Local and remote operation capabilities

This system ensures seamless performance, higher operational reliability, and faster fault detection and response.
